It was not an amazing event that Johnny Depp had found himself going through divorce proceedings from his latest wife, Amber Heard. What was shocking was the fact that he married her, after earning all he did up to that point as well as movies on the way, without a prenuptial agreement. The prenuptial is pretty much a guaranteed step between successful fiancees, especially when one has a significant amount of earning coming into a marriage. However, for some reason Depp was so enamored with Beard, after already having been married twice, that the idea of prenuptial simply didn’t enter his pirate-scarved head.

Now the demand list is coming out and it’s grossly expensive. $50,000 a month for spending money, $125,000 in legal fees to cover the divorce costs, and property. In their short marriage span, Depp made at least $100 million on two movies, which is automatically on the table. The marriage itself occurred in Los Angeles, CA, in 2015, so California divorce laws apply. The state historically is a community property state, so right off the top anything Depp earned in the marriage is 50 percent Heard’s and vice versa. The big question is how much did Depp lose in taxes and spending since the marriage start from that $100 million, reducing the pot available, and how much of his house property will he lose as well. Either way, Heard is likely to walk away with $20-$30 million by conservative estimates.
