Val Kilmer recently struggled to speak to fans during one of his interviews in which he explained why he had to cancel his tour; the reason being a swollen tongue, though there seems to be more to it.
The 56-year-old actor slurred his words as he spoke at a screening of the film version of his play Citizen Twain in Los Angeles. Kilmer said: “I went into rehearsals down in Florida and started having trouble with my speech. Obviously I’m still recovering and my tongue swelled up and I cancelled the tour. So as I’m recovering I’m showing this.”
What has a lot of people worried is the fact that might not be just a simple swollen tongue. According to Michael Douglas, Kilmer may be suffering from tongue cancer as Douglas has said he’s been battling the condition.
However, Val himself denies these accusations and says he doesn’t suffer from any type of cancer, as he explained is a Facebook post: “I love Michael Douglas but he is misinformed. The last time I spoke to him was almost two years ago when I asked him for a referral for a specialist to get a diagnosis for a lump in my throat, which prevented me from continuing a tour of my play CITIZEN TWAIN.”
